Welcome to the Kids Church At Home

Hi everyone! Today is our last Church At Home before the summer, it’s been so great to see and hear of how you have been able to engage with Jesus as a family. If you have any stories then send them over, I’d love to be able to share with others how Church at Home has been helping you and your family to walk closer with Jesus together.

Scroll down to hear more about exciting things next weekend!

Follow through the page or choose the parts that work best for you and your child at home today. You don’t need to have all the answers, just chatting together and asking questions together will build your child’s relationship with Jesus and yours too! If anything comes up that you aren’t sure about and want some help to explain it to your child then get in touch.

Praying, worshipping and opening the bible together is an amazing thing to do as a family and will give you and your child tools to help them now and in the future. You’re doing amazing!

I hope you have a great time today doing Church At Home together!

Send your photos of what you’ve been up to, I’d love to see them and I know others in the church would love to see them too.

Design your ideal garden!

What flowers, plants and trees would be in it?

What toys and games would be in it?

What sports equipment might be in it?

Would there be a trampoline, a hot tub or a basketball hoop? Or a rabbit hutch, horse and pond? Or a strawberry patch, tree house and den?

Either draw, print/cut out images or use different craft materials to make your design. Explain about what is in your garden and why to others in your house.

What would you need to do to keep your garden nice? How would you need to look after it?

Teaching & Questions

This video is based on John 15:1-5

Questions to talk through together

  • What is Jesus like?
  • How can we stay connected to Jesus every day?
  • What do you think it looks and feels like to be close to Jesus?
  • Jesus wants to be our greatest friend. What does a good friend look like? How can we be a good friend to other people?

If we stay connected to Jesus and spend time with him, we start to be more like him. All the good things that are in him start to show in us and through us too! But just like a fruit needs to stay attached to a tree to grow, we need to stay connected to Jesus to grow to be more like him too.

  • Write down 2 ways you are going to connect with Jesus this week.

Sometimes being outside in nature can help to connect with Jesus as we see everything he has made and enjoy his creation that is just for us.

Here is a link to where you can download a Nature Prayer Walk Scavenger Hunt.

Set a time this week or weekend to go for a walk as a family and complete the scavenger hunt. Maybe you could even add some of your own things to find!

Choose your favourite song to finish worshipping with today! Let me know what song you choose.
